Madakaripura is the highest waterfall on the island of Java and the second highest in Indonesia with a height of about 200 meters.

So when combined, it means that the waterfall is believed to be the hermitage of the Patih of the Majapahit Kingdom.
The story is supported by the Gajah Mada statue at the entrance gate area of this tourist spot. The statue is the starting location for the journey on foot to the location of the waterfall.

Along the way, tourists can simultaneously enjoy the view of the green cliffs on either side of the river. During the rainy season, several small waterfalls appear and seem to flow on the sidelines of the cliffs. It is recommended to wear non-slip sandals because the road is quite slippery and bring an umbrella so that the whole body is not wet by the splash of the small waterfall that flows from the cliff.
Approaching the point of the waterfall, the river valley narrows like a canyon. Even though the weather is sunny, around the waterfall feels as if it is raining because the water does not only flow from the main waterfall, but also from the narrow cliff edge.
